By: “How To Survive As A Woman”
We are all very impressed with the major News Headlines regarding the passing of an extremely outstanding entertainment persona, Joan Rivers. Personally, I am amazed by the many words of tribute regarding her life and qualities. For example, ‘Online AOL, Makers’ stated the following;
“Joan Rivers was brave from the beginning, and bold until the end. We’ll always remember her honesty and audacity. She laughed when she talked about repeated rejection, because as we all know, it shaped her comedy for the better. And luckily, performing healed any wounds it inflicted.”
With this quotation we only mention a few of the loving expressions of gratitude and appreciation for the looks, laughs, and life of Joan Rivers.
While we look back on the life and times of Joan, we cannot help but reflex on the personality that she manifested. The stupendous personality that got her through her many challenges and difficulties. Her strong character, dispositions and temperaments were the formula that kept her positive, and driven.
Yes, Joan was often criticized for you aggressiveness, her outspokenness and her loquaciousness. However, she was able to overcome severe personal struggles, extreme debt, and the loss of her husband.
But through it all, Joan remained steadfast in her determination to succeed in a truculent and many times an unforgiving industry.
Love her or hate her, hats off to Joan Rivers.
But now this begs the question. In our current world of overwhelming obsessions with beauty, body and sexual politics, what qualities should today’s woman develop that will optimize her success?
Today, the pressure is on HIGH for a woman to compete and succeed in nearly every field of endeavor. Either by necessity or by choice, the woman must strive to Survive; to provide a home, career and income for herself. With the ever increasing amount of single mothers, along with the increased responsibility, women are now in the forefront in seeking greater opportunities, and expectations. The woman must now show characteristic that were otherwise reserved for the man.
Today’s woman pushes forward with aggressiveness in standing firm against male prejudice and stereotypes. While certain limitations must be acknowledged, a true woman can take on the burden of success, and display all the qualities, refinements and beauty that is her nature.
Ladies, don’t hold back, be the complete person you are meant to be. Never let personal fears and insecurities limit your development. Pay no attention to age, social status, body size, hair color or style, or perceived personality anomalies. View these challenges as stepping stones and not a blockade.
W – The wonderful person you are meant to be.
O – Overcome anything or anyone that keeps you from success.
M – Make your own opportunities, don’t wait for it to be handed to you.
A – Another day that is tomorrow, to continue forward for your future.
N – Nurture yourself and the ones you love.
Joan Rivers, an example for every woman? You decide.
