This is a real story of a female’s cop daily life.
It is also a tribute to all women who are serving their country, and have rendered their lives to protect us.
One of the professions I could say we admire the most is that of the Police Department and the Fire Department.
Every day, they go to work with uncertainty not knowing what the day will bringing forth; or what risks they are going to have to take; or what challenges they must overcome and survive.
Yes, the live of a cop is dangerous and overwhelming some times, but at the same time it is rewarding and fulfilling. They are constantly training with strenuous duties and challenging assignments. They are always been scrutinized by the academy, their peers and by themselves. No pressure!
They are protecting our family, friends and neighborhoods from harm. It is hard work but the effort is well worth it. “It is fulfilling” said a police officer I interviewed a few days ago. Her name is Margarette and she is a police woman. She has been on the force for thirty two years; which seemed surprising to me, because she looked like twenty five years old, fit and beautiful!
Margarette as many women on the force, has endured difficult treatment being a female police officer in a male environment or as she said “in a male dominated world.”
“There are three types of men (Margarette says) we have to deal with in the force constantly, and the faster we identify them, the better our chance for survival (or understanding and getting along) is going to be:
1- First we have the men of understanding; the man who does not feel threatened by our presence. Those will treat us as equals on the force, especially when we go on dangerous assignments. They are the best companions and we feel strong working with them side by side.
2- Then we have the second type, the ones who feel threatened. These men seem to feel emasculated with our presence. We have to be careful with this type and endeavor to get along with daily. We need to understand their feelings and their nature in order to work well together. Sometimes is a real challenge for us as women to make them understand that we can do as well and sometime even better!
3- The third type of man that we need to be aware of is the loving one. They are the protectors, the lovers, and the givers. On assignments they may be overly concerned with protecting the women officers. This can cause them to lose focus on the objective of the assignment and we don’t work that well under those circumstances. We prefer the man that has confidence in our abilities and allow us to do the job.”

As women we have to learn to survive in every situation. Not only when serving as a Police Officer, a Fire Fighter or as a house wife. As a woman, you know that you have the “power” to achieve many things in a man’s world. But at the same time we need the proper mental attitude and understanding of what that “man’s world is”
In “How To Survive As A Woman” (It is an e-book with a collection of experiences of women from all over the world) you will read about how many women around the world have survived difficult times in relationships, work, and many facets of life. By these experiences we see how they achieved their goals by simply understanding the “man’s world” Margarette talks about.
When you understand what men want and what they need, you will be better able to assist them in several ways. Why do I say “assist” them? Do they really need our assistance? Well, let me tell you a secret: “when you assist them, you also assist yourself”… see how in: “How To Survive As A Woman”
At this point, we want to thank all women who serve our country and all women who are rendering their lives to their duty.
You are, indeed, the masters of your job and an example to all women around the world. You are to be commended, as wonderful women you are…and as JR mentioned in her book “How To Survive As A Woman”… “You are women of success, value, respect and wisdom! Women will praise you and men will adore you.” Praise and love to all of you!
